ADDITION :- The most common mistake while adding is that we are habituated with vertical addition . While in exam the addition appears horizontally , so friends here is a tip , leave your habituated vertical addition and start adding horizontally as many as possible . eg. 9561 + 856 + 3214 + 15490 + 206 + 8561 + 20 Step 1 - start adding from the right most part i.e (1+6+4+0+6+1+0) = 18 , write 8 separately and carry 1 Step 2 - now start adding the 2nd right element of each number i.e (6+5+1+9+0+6+2+1(carry)) = 30 , write 0 towards the left hand side of previously written 8 and carry 3 Step 3 - again start the same procedure and add all the 3rd right element of each no i.e (5+8+2+4+2+5+3(carry)) = 29 , write 9 towards left hand side of previously written 08 and carry 2 Step 4 - now adding the 4th right element i.e (9+3+5+8+2(carry)) = 27 , write 7 towards LHS of 908 and carry 2 Step 5 - add the 5th right element i.e(1+2(carry)) = 3 , write 3 towards left of 7908 , which is equal to 37908 Ans = 37908 (Note - Initially it will take a bit lengthier and time taken , but with a lot of practice , it will even take a less time than vertical addition)
