The REC noted and paid tribute to women of South Africa for their significant role that they played and continued to play in the struggle for national liberation and socio-economic emancipation in South Africa. The women’s political commitment and heroism inspires us to continue with the struggle of making South Africa a better place to live in. The REC extensively discussed the upcoming ANC Peter Mokaba Regional Conference and agreed about its position over the matter. The ANCYL Peter Mokaba Region believe that at this current conjuncture, there is a need to have a leader of the ANC who understand the challenges and frustration of young people, a leader who will never compromise the principles of the organization, a leader who satisfy all leadership requirements as set out in the guiding document-through eye of a Needle, a leader who will serve as a beacon of hope to all ANC members and ordinary masses of our people. In light of the above the ANCYL took a decision to Support Cde Thembi Nkameding as the Chairperson, Cde Solly Rasefate as the Deputy Chairperson, Cde Mphofela Zebulon as the Secretary, Cde Chepape Gideon as the Deputy Secretary and Cde Serite Segoloane as the Treasure. We as the ANCYL strongly believe that the entire collective as led by Cde Thembi Nkadimeng possess the character of the leader as set out by the ANCYL and also that we are confident that they remain relevant to take us to a united region with Stability. As the Leadership of the ANCYL Peter Mokaba we call upon all our Members to fully participate in structures of the ANC in making this pronouncement a reality, as progressive youth of the ANC we reiterated our full confidence in the leadership of the Cde Thembi Nkameding and the proposed collective, and pledge our full and undivided support in the upcoming BGM’S and the Regional Conference of the ANC.
