ALL ENDS WELL! I had a little shopping to do today at Lowe’s, etc. This place is several miles away from home. As I was leaving my cell phone buzzed at me. It was some 800 number. I didn’t recognize it and almost didn’t answer it, but I did. It was our Protection agency telling me they got a warning about a possible fire alarm at my house. “What, it cannot be.!” Carol was gone I knew at this time because of some engagement she had. They couldn’t find anyone at home. I told them to hold off or at least I thought I did. But as I went down the road I wondered if the fire trucks were on their way and they would be there. I could just see the fire engines parked on our narrow street and people out looking to see what was happening. Traffic was slow and of course the red lights were against me! But as I rounded the final block all was peaceful -- no fire trucks. “Good, good!” I rushed into the house and checked the alarm. I deactivated it all and all was well. What had happened when my wife left the house and put the alarm on she accidentally touched the panic button for the fire. There was no fire and she was embarrassed that she had done that. But it quickly ended my shopping spree for the day. Oh, well another day in the Hockett household!
