AMAZING PIANO PLAYING A Man came up to a young lady who had just played the piano during an incredible worship time. “Young lady, he said, your piano playing led me into the presence of God, it was truly amazing” the young lady insisted that it was God and not her that deserved all the credit. The man kept saying that the girl had done an amazing job, the girl kept insisting it was all down to God. In the end the man said, “ Well if it was all God may I point out that He actually made a few mistakes and hit a couple of duff notes” My point is that we need to learn how to take credit (While giving God the glory) for what God leads us to do. The girl had spent years, practicing, learning, going to college etc, she was God’s workmanship, created in Christ to do good works that He prepared in advance for Her to do. (Eph 2v10) Yesterday while checking the progress of our new website, getting it ready for going live with ‘Live Streaming’ soon, I noticed that many of the testimonies mentioned a lot about me and Trish, of course they mentioned God and His glory too. Several of the stories, (That will be on the website) mentioned how they had met us, how we had prayed for them, stuck with them, fed them, clothed them, took them into our house to love, detox and then stuck with them for many years in some cases. I was troubled at the mention of my name in the testimonies so often and asked the guys doing the editing to make sure there was more mention of God and a lot less mention of us. Last night I had a night in on my own, Trish is in Scotland, helping someone we love. I thought about my life, staying up till late, remembering the mental institutions I was in, then the folk I have been able to rescue from depression and suicide from Mental homes, I remembered the rehabs I was in over the years for my addiction, and all the folk we took into our home or our rehabs and helped them. I remembered the homeless we have fed and helped, then I remembered the times I was homeless, begging on the streets, lonely and cold. I remembered the cancer I have had, the transplant, the Hep C, then remembered the several that we have prayed with and God has healed them, set them free and saved them. I remembered after I got clean and saved the times I trained to get fit, I had no car, bike or finance to go into all the world but I had two strong legs, then I remembered the thousands of miles we have walked carrying the cross through different countries, leading God knows how many to salvation. My friends, we may not have been greatly educated in College, or have a lot of money to help others but if we will use all the struggles, hard times, sicknesses etc that we go through to love on, give to and help others we will find that it is indeed God who works WITH US to do His bidding. Do not be ashamed of being mentioned or being given credit for what you do with God. Just remember to stay completely humble and to give God all the glory. My friends, ‘Being Rich is NOT about how much you have, but about how much you give away. So DON’T be afraid to be given credit for what you do. Have a lovely day. John
