ANCESTRAL NOTE: Our ancestor, Sir William Martyn, built the Athelhampton House, a beautiful country manor (castle) in 1485. It is still standing and is open to the public! It is located near Dorchester, Dorset, England. There is a Facebook page for Athelhampton House. Look them up! This is a beautiful example of Tudor architecture! We may need to organize a Castle Hopping Adventure soon!!!!! Sir William Martyn (Martin) is my/our 12th great-grandfather (for those in my generation of cousins). We had many knighted Barons for a few hundred years during this time in the Martin line!
