APC, G7 govs’ romance unsettles PDP BY TED ODOGWU & SAMINU IBRAHIM • Party insists opposition lacks identity • Buhari, Tinubu, Masari storm Kano, woo Kwankwaso The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not at ease over the understanding being forged by the group of seven rebel governors with the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC). Apparently in reference to the gathering of some members of the G7 governors who were in Sokoto on Monday alongside chieftains of the APC, the PDP yesterday berated the APC, describing the party as hypocritical, saying it lacks genuine ideology and principles for desperately coaxing PDP governors and celebrating mere discussions with them. In a statement issued yesterday in Abuja and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, the PDP said “by wooing PDP governors, the APC has also confirmed that it lacked true followership and electable materials at all level, hence its desperate bid to poach from the PDP.” The reaction of the PDP also came against the backdrop of a visit by the APC to Kano to woo Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State to join APC. The APC insisted that there is plenty of room in the party to accommodate progressive minds as Kwankwaso. Making a high powered speech in Kano yesterday, National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, led over six APC governors, both serving and former to Kano State to convince Kwankwaso to pitch his tent with what he called the winning party, pointing out that when small minds are in power, great minds are persecuted. Caveat: Over to Nigerians! Pass your judgement! Your comment(s) pls? Should APC receive the people they called thieves yesterday into their fold and become automatic progreesives? Anyway, Kwakwaso is performing. I ve visited Kano.
