We nominate our friends at the American Occupational Therapy Association to take the challenge! https://youtube/watch?v=v949QGh84EE Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord of about 30,000 American at any given time. ALS impacts motor function resulting in paralysis, loss of the ability to communicate, and eventually death. Thousands of ASHA members work with individuals fighting ALS all across the country, and are dedicated to helping them communicate and improve their quality of life, as they and loved ones fight the disease. Accepting the “Ice Bucket Challenge” and passing it on is a great way to support people with ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases.
