ATTN CRAIGSLIST SELLERS & PAYPAL SELLERS IN GENERAL! My mom posted her wedding ring on Craigslist. A man wanted to pay via PayPal and offered to pay all fees. He said he sent payment & she even received an email saying the payment was sent but wouldnt be cleared until she sent tracking to an email address to PayPal. The email looked legit but after looking it over, it didnt seem right and when I got on the computer, there were no transactions pending or anything in her account. I emailed the email asking questions and they responded with an answer. However, I still wasnt buying it so I called PayPal on the phone. Sure enough, it was a fraud & an attempt to steal my moms ring. If I wouldnt have been here, mom wouldve shipped the ring and been out a ring & money. Be aware! Make sure you inform people that arent as familiar with PayPal to NEVER ship an item unless it shows up in your PayPal account or even just receive a money order. The guy at PayPal said this happens a lot and several people have been scammed. If anything looks suspicious, look into it. Please feel free to share. Who knows how many innocent people they are targeting!
