About 1:45 a.m. Thursday morning, a passenger car crossed the Interstate into oncoming traffic and ran head-on into an 18-wheeler. The accident caused the truck to burst into flames and Colorado Citys and Westbrooks fire departments were called to the scene. The driver of the car was killed in the accident that occurred west of Westbrook near Mile Marker 201 and the Howard County line. The identity of the driver has not been released, but the car had California license plates.
