About this time of year three decades ago my husband and I partied at the home of a friend of a friends sister. The house was on the campus of a private boarding school outside Front Royal, VA and its occupants were new teachers there. We were to spend the night so I brought a crock pot of chili (this turned out to be the main sustenance for more than 20 people, we were a hungry bunch). All night we played a game called Cups that seemed to be of Spanish or Italian origin. One of the group had MS and was wheelchair bound. It was his favorite game and all his friends were keen to play this game with him since he was not able to participate in many of their other adventures. The school bordered on property owned by the National Zoo! So the other feature of the night was wild animal calls. I dont know what exotic creatures were out there, but they sometimes started the conversation, sometimes called back to the party. :::: May all your cup memories be good ones. I think Ill take tomorrow to rest from celebration.
