Accident Reconstruction Team Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Collision on Route 20 On Friday, January, 31, 2014 at approximately 11:00 PM Worcester police were called to the area of 324 Southwest Cutoff (Route 20) for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed a 38-year-old male suffering from serious injuries in the parking lot of the Kas Bar. The pedestrian was identified as David Drost of Millbury. Mr. Drost was rushed to UMass Memorial Medical Center to be treated for internal injuries and head trauma. Last night Mr. Drost succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The preliminary investigation reveals that Mr. Drost attempted to run across Route 20 toward the Kas Bar. A 16-year-old female from Millbury was driving west on Route 20 when she struck Mr. Drost. The impact of the collision threw Mr. Drost into the parking lot of the Kas Bar. The Accident Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene. The investigation is ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
