Activity 2.2: Gangadham military area all clear :) It was a feeling of happiness and pride this Sunday Morning to see our youth all geared up for #SwachhBharat Abhiyan. It was really pleasing to see the enthusiasm in our youth with volunteers coming all the way from Pashan and Balewadi sacrificing a sunday morning sleep! Respect! This Sunday turned out to be a great start as we cleaned the entire area and the work was appreciated by the crowd passing by. An elderly gentleman - Ajoba gave us the bunch of lovely flowers and appreciated our efforts with blessings and the card saying GOOD WORK! Coffee aunty - as I would love to call her, was touched that we were cleaning their area on sunday morning at 6 a.m. She got us all a splendid, hot Elaichi coffee and we were all refreshed back on feet :) Thank you aunty:) A random guy or a patriotic gentleman at heart as I must say, stopped by and started the cleanliness task with us. He was an engineer and currently working in Mumbai in media industry. We concluded with restricting the cleaned area with strings and boards shouting out to the mobile crowd Do not Spit!, Cleanliness is next to godliness! etc. This step was necessary as we perform our bit by cleaning but the public continues to litter! #Harsh_Truth :( I would also like to mention appreciation to the uncle who gets the so called kachre ka truck every sunday morning with just a single call. No complaints no demands! ;) He did not even take the token of appreciation and thanks offered by us saying he was more than happy and proud to be a part of our initiative. To all, We do not aim at publicising ourselves or self appraisals. All we wish to do here is achieve the aim of #Clean_India. We request everybody to keep their surroundings clean as that itself would be a huge contribution. Do not throw garbage at roadsides, carry it back in your bags and dispose it properly. Do not pee on roadsides. We keep carrying out activities on sundays.
