[Admin] OPEN LETTER Dear Raghupathy ji, Greetings to you, this message pertains to your endorsement of Justification of High Cut-offs given by some TCS guy Named Shri Swapan Das. You’ve been blindly venerated to the extent of a God by many including me, due to your impeccable career and candidate friendly measures taken by you. Therefore, before having to be fully convinced with the above mentioned justification kindly have a look at the following points of an SSC guy too. • Let’s start with the comparison of between mains result of 2012 and 2013:- it has been mentioned that there is an increase of 20-36% in all categories. It may be corrected to 30-50%. As in comparison to 2012 we have taken more than 1.5 times candidates (5619 in 2012 from 8613 in 2013). I am sure you can understand that the more no. Of candidates called in, the lesser is the cut-off. Or in a layman language it may be interpreted that we if had called 5619 candidates in 2013, cut-off would have been around ‘450’ or more (in UR category ‘2202’ no. Of candidates in 2012 and ‘3233’ in 2013-with almost same or more proportion of increase in all the categories). • 2013 is an exam which was locked at the very beginning of 2013(no new candidate could get in since then) and was continuously filtering candidates as well (2013 T1 was taken up by 12,12,429 candidates, 2013(Re-exam)T1 was taken up by 4,95,376 candidates. Filtering genuine candidates much more than these criminals, who have rather been benefitted from re-exam (let’s take this topic some other time). Many candidates leave the exam when unprepared, so they were/are out of it too. Many left it because of its being mired in controversies, court cases and admission of CBI and Delhi Police of ‘an otherwise well know fact for all of us’. Not all candidates and not all the time maintain consistency for this long period. Last but not least SSC CGL 2013(Re-exam) came as a surprise at times to many candidates (not for these criminals though). Therefore, the competition gets much lower compared to other CGL exams. • SSC CGL 2011 had good no. Of vacancies. Therefore, the majority settled and cut-off rested at a little less or equal in 2012. But, 2013 had two big vacancy years preceding it and to your big surprise many genuinely interested candidates and Interview post holders and Non-interview post holders of 2012 could not book their seat in this hot controversial cut-off, many have not even been able to secure their seat in NIP despite their best possible efforts. Undoubtedly they appear with full force and more mature outlook in this exam compared to the newbies and they should have been among the front-runners in this exam. Whereas, suddenly out of nowhere wonder kids born out of Saraswati maha-yantra force them all behind and rule the roost. • A MAJOR COUNTER ARGUMENT:- It is so disappointing that Shri. Swapan Das ji has taken an example of sample survey conducted by professionals to pick up opinion/exit polls comparing it with a competitive exam for even spread of increase in cut-offs. Respected Sir, I leave it to your judgement how appropriate this comparison could be, and come to the direct point that candidates selected from the various categories also fall in UR. You’d be surprised to see even the best cream had to take shelter in its category this time. There are some people from categories with good educational background who used to advocate that the quota should be used by needy students from poor background in recruitment. IRONYCALLY these activists too have fallen in the dilemma after being rejected in UR and selected in Category (someone would certainly find an argument here, why they fill status of category so, they may be informed that almost none of them oppose quota in promotions that is there until you reach class-I which means at least 2 promotions in case of 4600 GP) Back to the point, when the cream of categories has to settle for quota. The cut-offs have to proportionately go high in all the categories.(it can have a good comparison how corruption flows from top to bottom) By keeping ‘PDF type open results’ under the veil SSC is trying to escape many such accurate analysis. • Your being a bureaucrat + Academician, it must have been inadvertently skipped out of your notice that the game of quota by/for political reasons specially with OBC category in which usually candidates are called in more number than the available vacancy In pre and mains examinations to give them an eyewash of having to be at an advantage (another problem of a nation where everybody wants to go ahead and called backward). In a simple language ratio of having been rejected in final list is less in UR compared to OBC. EVENLY SPREAD CUT-OFF THEORY CAN BE STRAIGHT AWAY rejected because SSC officials/and any other recruiting agencies can definitely spread the cut-offs as they want by increasing/decreasing the no. Of candidate in any category unlike exit/opinion polls..lolz. .!! • SSC considers all the aspirants to be blind and senseless, what to think of Visually Handicapped candidates, I guess they are just the formality in SSC results as nobody/including any of us dared to notice injustice done to them in Tier-1 as well as Tier 2. 1038 candidates were called in for first 2013-T1 with a cut-off of 48 marks and then JUST 470 candidates were called in Re-exam 2013-T1 with a higher cut-off of 61 marks!! There was an increase in calling of the candidates in all the categories except HH and Ex.S who scored a minimum required 25 marks. But, reduction in no. Of candidates with higher cut-off..uff.. and OUT OF THEM(VH) ONLY 43 WERE GIVEN A GO AHEAD IN ITERVIEW POST AND 60 IN NON-ITERVIEW POST THAT TOO WITH THE CUT-OFFS HIGHER THAN THE PREVIOUS YEARS UR’s i.e. 315.25 and 300.25 respectively. Mostly those cleared who managed to ARRANGE a good scribe. :’-( If you know any such VH candidate who cleared 2013 but, did not clear 2013 re-exam. File a case and also meet Smt. Stuti Narain Kacker, Secretary, Disability in Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and raise this injustice. I agree that there are plenty of reasons that have increased the competition in SSC exams which includes inclination of the best brains from the best fields like engineering, management, IT, law, even Healthcare etc. Due to transparent and efficient measures adopted by SSC under your guidance and persevering honest efforts. Yet there should be a rationale to the high cut-offs. Getting up to the level of 100 isn’t a cakewalk either when one starts the preparation, but after 140, increase of each mark requires a fine balance of all including knowledge, efficiency, nerves, luck etc. And for your kind information I would like to bring to your notice that IIT, IIM aspirants if any score only average to good scores in SSC, as they leave their posh jobs/careers to pursue UPSC not SSC and take the latter exam for practice/backup and it may be very well known to you that English, Maths don’t have such big importance in UPSC and these Rajnikant type marks are not possible without complete dedication. Your Endorsement to such a superficial analysis in defending SSC shows the love of a mother, who has endearingly reared a child with sweat, blood, flesh and hard labour and defends all his faults with plain logics. But, surprisingly your lack of foresight in having to be associated with a coaching centre clubbed with such quick conclusions are causing further damage to your ultimate aim of helping, guiding, motivating youth of today. (We know that your stature is far bigger than this small coaching centre thing and a senior most IAS officer can have much better opportunities, yet this fact carries some weight too that your association has made way for even the greedy officers of SSC to get associated with the coaching institute/institutes). You are in the friends list of frauds too (though innocently) but mark my words they’ll be just friends of fair weather and we’ll be your admirers through all the thick and thin) There has been a little or more manipulation in clerical to assistant/Inspector grade examinations much earlier as well, even when they were conducted by UPSC. Objective method combined with modern innovative technologies has brought the situation down to the worst possible level, pilferage has become plunder and the greed has no end to it. None could easily realise when did ‘salt in flour turned into flour in salt’ Kindly take responsibility as well as opportunity to act proactively because ALARMINGLY this situation is not so ordinary as it appears, even 50% such criminals would annihilate 90% system quicker than you/we can anticipate. Cut-offs for MTS 103.75 out of 150 The lower the exam, the higher is the manipulation, sadly even during your tenure. Kindly seek feedback from user departments especially for 10+2 exam selections. SSC being an agency entrusted with the task of selecting good talent for most sensitive and responsible organs of the Govt. Of India won’t be able to shrug its responsibility when the nation will bleed from the clashes of the class of fools ruling in System and the class of meritorious ones against the system. Yours sincerely but not obediently, AKSHAM KAKA & All Aspirants KINDLY SHARE IT ON EVERY SSC PAGE
