After a day-trip to Athens, TN, two appointments in Maryville and a stop at Trader Joes, Im finally heading home on a lovely Friday Late Afternoon, looking forward to a restful weekend. Feeling a little drowsy, I stop at a rest stop on I-81 for a quick cat-nap. As I leave, I hear a peculiar noise at the front right of the car, stopped to look around, saw nothing. Shortly after reaching 70mph, I hear a ding-dong from the dashboard- Houston, we have a problem- Alarm 1201? No- Low Tire pressure. Damn! Drove slowly on the shoulder and soon found a gravel patch to pull off safely away from the road. Unload *all* the crap in my trunk, including a very heavy demo case. Change the tire without incident. There was warmth, daylight, dry weather and everything I needed, plus the tire didnt fail catastrophically at 80MPH while I was sleepy. I am feeling extremely grateful to be safely home, only 20 minutes later than expected.
