Agents of the Peoples National Movement arguing for ownership of the Diego Martin Highway Expansion Plan, point to two lines, nine words in a 2006 budget. By 2010 when they were routed from office that plan was still just a plan. Three weeks after i spoke to the Minister of Works under the Peoples Partnership Government in 2011 traffic wardens were assigned to Diego Martin at Starlite and Four Roads to ease up traffic. In less than three months actual construction of the expansion plan and support roads was begun. PNM wants to claim the plan. In Carenage there is a sign promising a health centre that is eight years old. Imagine that. An eight year old promise sign. Now the Peoples Partnership is actually building the health centre the PNM and its agents will want to claim that too, and can point to their sign. The residents of Carenage, happy to finally be getting their health centre have a few choice words for Rowley and his failed representation including, where he could put his sign. The same Rowley who had the unmitigated gall to ask of the Prime Minister in the Parliament as to the status of the Carenage Fish market, that despite him being MP for the area for over 25 years and Minister of Planning and Development was never built, but is soon to be constructed. Diego Martin West is fed up of Rowley and his plans and promises.
