Agricultural Make-up Day #2. At the Harvest Festival yesterday I got to work the HayMaze again. Just me and an entire herd of unruly, happy, loud, catnipped cats, er, children. Definitely hard to herd these guys sometimes! Luckily parents often did their appropriate parts in supporting the very few rules: walk in the maze, no climbing on the bales, be kind. Still no rain around here, just very dense, heavy, wet foggy, cold weather. The kids and families seemed to be having a great time watching the trabouchet pumpkin toss, the apple press, doing the hay rides and pony rides, finding their very special pumpkins out in the patch, meeting the pigs and horses, getting faces painted, and eating well. There was an old time style music group fiddling away that made my feet want to clog (and they dont really know how!) Tomorrow is my last regular work share work day of the 20. Im ready.
