Ah, I can really identify with the dad in this story! Every Christmas my family think that I am a Scrooge. Its not that I hate Christmas, I do find it meaningful as a Christian. But how I detest the superficial gift giving and greetings. I hate to have to remind myself to be gracious when I get a present which I dont like and receiving messages from people I dont really know and then having to respond back with a perfunctory greeting which I know is far from sincere.
