Aimee Robertson-Fant talks about the progress weve made, or lack thereof. She writes, What can we do? We ask. Some say that’s just the way it is. An old Bruce Hornsby “The Way it is” song tells the story of an observation of apathy for racial inequality. Others say: “I do not belong to a group that is being discriminated against or being persecuted. These issues don’t affect me.” ”Racial inequality and racism doesn’t exist anymore.” It doesnt take much effort to look at the direction weve been heading this past year to know where we are heading, and we better stop it, and stop it now. If you choose to ignore it, or deny it, then you side with the oppressor. Dr. King delivered that message over 50 years ago. Are we making progress?
