Al Qaeda chief pledges renewed loyalty to Mullah Omar The al Qaeda terrorist network chief Aymal al-Zawahiri has pledged renewed loyalty to Afghan Taliban supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar in his new video message. Zawahiri released the latest video message to announce the cration of an Indian branch of al Qaeda network in India to raise the flag of jihad across South Asia. He calls on Muslim nations to wage jihad against their enemies in a bid to restore sovereignty by liberating their land and reviving the caliphate. According to Zawahiri, the Muslims in the Indian subcontinent including Burma, Bangladesh and in the Indian states of Assam, Gujarat, and Jammu and Kashmir, would be rescued from injustice and oppression with the creation of group’s Idian branch. The latest video message by Zawahiri comes as an intelligence report released earlier in July suggested that al Qaeda terrorist network is planning final Jihad for India with intelligence reports suggesting terror recruitment drive targeting the nation’s Muslims. According to the intelligence agencies, al Qaeda is making inroads into India, sowing the seeds of a “final war” across the country, through mobilisation of its resources for jihad. The ideological goal of the terrorist organization, according to a detailed report is Ghazwa-e-Hind, or the final battle in India. Ghazwa-e-Hind refers to an indoctrinated view of a final apocalyptic war and the term is used by jihadi circles, even on the web. The intelligence report further adds that the al Qaeda network, which was created by Arab rebels, is now having fresh recruits from Kashmir-centric groups. The report indicates that the situation could put India in a tough position as the extremist group has a base in India, that it seeks to strengthen now.
