The United States has a lot of beautiful places, landscapes, great cities, good people and a lot of things to do to have fun and enjoy any moment, but there is one state in particular which has everything and more than the others, Im talking about Maine. The University of Maine in Orono has a lot of careers, masters and PhD, is one of the principal universities of the state and has the Intensive English Institute. This institute prepares all the international students to be ready for the classes of this university. Its important to say that more than just an Institute, it is your second home because the professors make you feel it and where your international friendships begun. We can find professors in the Institute who have traveled around the world. They have ideas on almost all countries, and this lets them establish good relations with all the international students. The knowledge they have is amazing. They give everything of themselves and always have the way to help you in any kind of topic even when it is about something outside of the institute. They are amazing people, because they consider that their classes are more than a job; they are like helping grow up with new friends. They are people who know how to work like a team, with respect and love for each other, and having extraordinary results in their students. They not only teach you English, they teach you the techniques to succeed in academic, social and personal life. The professors will create memories in all the students that they will never forget. Its impossible to forget the amazing hair of Kipping, the kindness of Gwen, the smile of Erin Wight, Lihua the perfect helper, the friendly Becky, the unique Erin-Kate, the cheerful Christina, the extraordinary Karen, the smartest Jim, the original Chris, the thousand stories Dave and the great Zhen, who you can always count on. These are the people who give everything about themselves to help others. Now, besides a good teachers you can find excellent international friends, where maybe the language will be a problem to communicate but when you realize that the smile creates a bonds of friendship, and start to make the principals questions like whats your name? Where you from? And after those questions nothing will be the same. You will find extraordinary people with an extraordinary history when you realize that everyone has something to share and could make you change your mind about meanings of life, love, religion and others. They are new friends and with a short time they convert to your brothers and sisters, which you will share your problems, happiness and hang out to enjoy the excellent time together. The institute is more than a school, it is one special place where you could find people of any part of the world, knowledge so different than yours, traditions so different and new kinds of food, but specially, more than learn English you learn Arabic, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese and Spanish. The decisions you make in your life have consequences, sometimes good sometimes not, but making the decision to came to the IEI, was one of the best decisions in my life, cause Im not only improve my English, I met a lot amazing friends and extraordinary teachers. Be part of this huge family, is one of the best decisions you can make in your life.
