Alarm bells are ringing that the national team, Leone Stars, is faced with a serious challenge as they marshal their forces to meet Swaziland. The task was hectic over the previous AFCON qualifiers for the national team to break the deadlock to qualify to the World Cup and African Cup of Nations, having lost to Tunisia in the previous World Cup and African Cup of Nations qualifiers. It means that our `Darling Stars` need to redouble their efforts to beat the `Swaziland away from home to keep their hopes alive in qualifying for the next stage of the 2015 Afcon qualifiers. The question begging for an answer is how prepared are Leone Stars? As always, the Stars preparation for international and continental competitions remain as a threadbare, given the fact that it always dawns on the national team to grapple with late preparation for any competitive bid for both continental and international laurels. The fact is that it is barely 13 days for the stars to face Swaziland and nothing is absolutely happening as far as preparation for the crucial match is concerned. Does it mean that officials of the Ministry, the technical team and the FA are not serious about confronting the task ahead? Are the officials waiting for a low rank Swaziland to beat the Stars again which will shatter our hopes of qualifying to the next stage of the competition after that nightmare in the last African Cup of Nations qualifiers? It is believed that the time is rife for authorities concerned to take this match seriously, bearing in mind that Sierra Leone have failed to qualify for this tournament since 1996. This is food for thought.
