Aleppo returns to our attention .. horror returns to Aleppo The rebels seem to be coordinating to gain more territory around Aleppo city. Couple of months ago, the governmental forces opened routes to the city (for instance via Khanaser-Sfire). This eased the life of the the residents who suffered long-lasting blockade. Now, the rebels are advancing in Aleppo. There are contested news reports about closing the Khanaser-Sfire route by the rebels. Which means another period of blockade and food scarcity in Aleppo. It seems to me that the same story is happening over and over again. Almost nothing is changing; even the determination of the parties is the same. Both still believe that they can solve the problem by fighting! The worst part is that as long as the parties are fighting, Aleppo will live this horror from time to time. When the government has the upper hand, the people who reside on the rebel held territories will live the horror. When the rebels have the upper hand, people who reside in government held areas, will live the horror.
