Algonquin Park has a single mudpuppy observation ever - an individual from Lake of Two Rivers in the 1960s! Are there more and why has no one ever caught another? Mudpuppies are most active in the winter and often get caught on baited lines. If you or someone you know is an avid ice fisherman please submit your mudpuppy sightings to the Ontario Reptile and Amphibian Atlas run by Ontario Nature! Please share and help us learn about these amazing aquatic salamanders. Read more about mud puppies at: ontarionature.org/protect/species/reptiles_and_amphibians/mudpuppy.php pinicola.ca/mudpup1.htm
