All aspect of a service is important!!! But I am deeply concerned as to how we regard the alter service which to me is one of the most important aspect.. This is where we battle, as the word has gone forth we are all challenged to act upon it and the enemy tries as much to control our minds bringing all sort of distractions and doubts.. The alter is where souls are revived, reclaimed and converted.... But we today have turned this moment into a social gathering and a recreational moment... We no longer value souls, we no longer see the need to pray through somebody, remembering that someone once prayed for us.... We many times walk away from the alter leaving persons who are in need of deliverance and a break through! We have become so selfish as believers who are just concerned about ourselves and ours, so if we dont know the person we wont go that extra mile in praying them through. When Jesus was on the earth He moved with compassion but we lack that very thing. Ahhh..... You dont have to lay hands on somebody at the alter, your mere presence there worshipping and welcoming the presence of God is good enough! As we engage in the battle at the alter some of us will use our worship to confuse the enemy while others acts as midwives encouraging and consoling! We ought to place a little more value on the alter service and souls!
