All this beauty and courage on my timeline and in my friends list. Sometimes I have a hard time figuring out how the world could be so lost when ALL of you amazing people are in it. We really need to build with one another! We need to put the ego, excuses and hate aside and help one another achieve our goals. Social media love is cool, but tangible love In the form of real time/ real world SUPPORT is a much more meaningful and beneficial contribution to the life of your loved ones and people with ideas you feel are worth supporting. Its easy to like a status or Facebook page. Its easy to RSVP online to an event. But will you actually go? And if not, why bother making your social media connections think you will? Its all about appearances. And thats no good. Id like to be a part of a culture of young people that is walking the walk, not just fronting for the gram, book or Twitter/ tumblr-verse. There are so many talented souls Ive recently connected with. Teachers, writers, fashion designers, hair & make up gurus, community activists, health advocates, musicians, and a host of other creative and inspiring individuals. I didnt make those connections lightly and I truly hope to build with and support each and every one of you, especially my NYC family. As a non profit CEO functioning in the real world more like a sole proprietorship it can be a very daunting task to continue the work I do with Young People of Color Incorporated & Locloveliveshere but I would not trade my passion, voice or determination for the world. Im hoping 2015 is the year Im introduced to as many of you folks as possible in the process of building a more beautiful and harmonious reality. Ive invited lots of you to the YPOC Self Love Sessions and I think its something many of you would be interested in but may not be informed about due to my limited scope of marketing & promo (which Im currently working on. Website in the works. Building staff. #WaitOnIt ) I just want good people and good things to get the recognition and support they deserve and I feel like we can do that for one another!
