*** Alonica Elga Aishah Cesar **** HOW I CAME TO ISLAM AND BECOME MUSLIM ============================= Assalamualaykum! How I came to Islam? Why I chose to become Muslim? Many people have asked me how I become Muslim? At first, it’s hard for me to explain because many of people when they heard the word Muslim the first thing they think is Terrorism and rebellious people and to be honest I’m one of them before, to make this story short here is my story, the reason why I chose the right path that change my point of view in life. I was born in Philippines , raised by my Catholic parents together with my other siblings, My parents follow all the sacraments according to Bible, as I grow up I used to follow this because all I know this is the right thing to do, Until I totally reached my maturity, I can say I’m not the type of a person who love to read Bible, cause one time I tried to read and understand it because too many question blew in my mind, that I need an answer but in the end I failed, it’s too much confusing to me and I don’t know what to believe. So I set aside all those question back of my mind and continue to live according to my will. Until, one day a great opportunity opens to me without any hesitation I grab it, year 2012 I went here in Dubai, I don’t know what life will bring her to me, How I will survive far from my life in the land of my birth. One year later I used to survived, but of course there is a little difference, I met different types of persons from different side of the world and I feel so happy and blessed because it will added to my experience that I can treasure for the rest of my life. So as day goes by I learned their culture and religion and of course the real meaning of it, I got friends who are Muslim, so I often ask them about their faith and without hesitation they introduce to me the Islam and it’s like a ring in my mind so out of curiosity I try to study, browsing internet, reading some articles about Islam and other so, little by little I used to know the real meaning of it, that Islam is not all about Terrorism and rebelling but How Islam will help you to be a good person according to God Allah plans, so I keep read until I understand little by little. So until one day, I ask myself I’m a ready to change the flow of my life and to become a Muslim? to help me I ask one of my friend and she give me the right path who can answer all my questions, June 26, I decided to went to Islamic Center, at first I feel hesitant to ask a Brother in reception, but I told to myself I’m already here and this is my chance to know more about Islam. He ask me several question and I answer it with truthfulness, He give me a direction, I went inside a room and I saw other Ladies sitting there and listening to a Man so I sit also with them, and he continue his lecture about Islam, at that time, I feel something inside, I feel so enlighten because after 27 years of my life, all the question in my mind are all answered, so that day without any hesitation I choose to become a Muslim and embrace the Islam. Right that moment, I can’t explain what I will feel all I know I made a right decision. Now I can say Alhamdullilah that I choose the right way to live, and I will continue to live it. Islam is great way toward to a better life and to become a better person. Alhamdullilah Allah gave me a new life and I will continue to follow this great journey until the rest of my life. Ameen.
