Amazing Reminder.... MUST READ! So by now youve probably heard of, if not seen, the video of a brother smashing some lights at the Kaaba and then trying to hit out at the crowd performing tawaf. Youve probably felt angry and even uttered words against this brother. You might want to take those back as it is being said that the brother is mentally ill. However, the point of this post is something else noticeable from that very same video and that is: the language of the sister recording. I have no idea who this sister is and have no intention of finding out. Nobody should expose her either, it is not from the manners of a Muslim to expose his brother or sister. We can all learn 2 very important lessons from this: 1. You will say what comes naturally to you. Again, this is a general point and not about this sister. Ask a doctor or a policeman about how many dying people theyve seen utter the shaahadah before they leave this dunya. Youll be shocked at how low the figure is. Instead, they will tell you about how many people utter lyrics of their favourite songs etc. Sadly, the use of the S word and the F word etc. has become so common amongst the youth that it is seen as something normal. Some people dont even realise theyre using it anymore. If you want to test this, think of how many times you remember someone, maybe ourselves even, say SubhanAllah or Astaghfirullah when we see something startling instead of s*** or f***. Can you imagine those with this habit being involved in a serious car accident, what do you think they will utter? Imagine dying with those words being the last thing you utter. May Allah save us all from such an end. So how do we ensure that which comes out of our mouths in these situations is only what please the Creator? Quite simply by increasing in dhikr until it becomes second nature and the S word and F words are naturally replaced with SubhanAllah, Alhamdulilah, Astaghfirullah, etc. 2. Second lesson: Do NOT spread that which could be held against you. SubhanAllah, this sister probably only sent this video to a friend or family member but somehow its ended up on the internet and potentially hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions, have seen it and heard the language shes used. Some may even have made dua against her, cursed her, etc. The sad thing is, once something goes on the internet, its hard to curtail it. So my dear brothers and sisters, next time you upload that harmless little video or picture with something haraam, remember that you may very well leave this dunya but the sins might carry on accumulating even after your death. Think twice and think of your aakhirah. Its too big a price to pay for the sake of a 30 seconds video... May Allah forgive our dear sister and accept her Umrah. May Allah protect us all from falling in to haraam. May Allah keep our tongues moist with His remembrance. Ameen. sheikh umran
