America is one big family. As such, we tend to treat each other with the respect - and disrespect generally accredited to family status. We sometimes tend to speak to each other in perhaps far too familiar a tone. A better approach might be to treat one with a little formality and caution, particularly if you are trying to build a good relationship. Perhaps we need to try harder to understand what our brothers and sisters are trying to tell us. In a perfect world, we could separate behaviors from the individual. Just because we differ in our beliefs doesnt mean that we should disregard what others have to say. It is, however, difficult to communicate with an attitude that reflects negative feelings and emotions. We are all one people and truthfully are on the same side. There are no good guys or bad guys. There is only disagreement among family members who really need to take the time to listen to - and respect each other. How do we, as a people, make this country the best it can be? Thats our question. We need good jobs. We need health care for all. We need to return to the days when people took pride in the work they did. They mixed their labor with an inanimate object and made something that in part belonged to them. What is better than the feeling of making something wonderful, special, useful, beautiful! We all need a sense of fulfillment in our lives and need to be proud of the work we do. What matters is that you feel good about the work you do everyday. We all need to feel a sense of accomplishment but when we work all day and someone else takes more than their share of that labor, we cannot help but feel that our labor was in vain. It cannot be good for the worker and it is certainly not good for the owner of such a sweat shop. We all need a rightful share in what we helped to create. This is (what I feel) is missing at this point. We need to make it a priority to determine what it is to put in an honest days work and receive an honest to goodness bond with that which we helped to create. There is an energy in it that is positive, uplifting and rewarding for everyone! For those of you who know what its like to watch someone mix their labor with their work and reap their fair share, you are so blessed. For those of you who dont, try to find it - its worth the effort. We are all best at something. Our job as a society is to find where each person fits (as an intricate puzzle) and help them fall into place. I a perfect world . . . . Is anyone up for this challenge?
