Amy, a shelter volunteer, and her husband, Rodney, adopted Jamie - TopicsExpress

Amy, a shelter volunteer, and her husband, Rodney, adopted Jamie and Pedro (now Pete) back in May as part of the Back in Black campaign. They were a bonded pair, seniors, and Pete was also the first FIV-positive cat adopted out by the shelter. :-) Amy says she met Jimmie a few weeks ago while working at PetSmart, and she couldnt help thinking hed be a great fit for the household. She writes: The card said, “Likes cats! Likes dogs!” We talked to Dylan about it, since we knew wed have to get the shelters blessing on adopting a third cat into an FIV household. Fortunately he was all for it, and we brought Jimmie home at the end of September. Since we already have a Jamie, our new boy needed a new name. With his white bow tie he reminded us of an exuberant Martin Scorsese in a tuxedo at the Oscars. Marty integrated himself immediately (and almost seamlessly!) with the two cats and two resident dogs, and its amazing how our family dynamic has changed—in a positive way. Pete has decided Marty is his exploring buddy, and even Jamie, who is quiet and generally sleepy, makes solo appearances from time to time, just to see whats going on. The dogs are amazed that THIS cat doesnt run, and theyre genuinely interested in getting to know him. Still a little pushy, but were working on that. We were told that Marty has a feral background, but we find that impossible to believe – we’ve never met a more laid-back, chill, friendly (to cats, dogs, and humans!) feline, ever. Thank you for allowing us to bring this wonderful guy into our home. Thank you, Amy and Rodney, for being incredible animal lovers! Sounds like you have a happy pack!
