An Amherst group is calling out for some help. Percy Best writes.... The Amherst FB group titled Amherst says..No to Fracking Water needs your support. The Amherst NS Town Council is considering accepting $500,000 from Atlantic Industrial Services for permission to dump the 10 million litres from Debert and the 20 million litres of fracking fluids from Kennetcook directly into the Leplanche River in Amherst.via a catchbasin and pipe which drains into the Chignecto Bay. It will not go through the Amherst Wastewater Treatment facility but will go through a screening Reverse Osmosis filter system in Debert before being transported in 1560 tractor trailer tanker loads over two years to the Leplanche River. If Amherst approves this than it sets itself up to be a Nova Scotia based fracking fluid dumping ground for Corridor Resources and SWN should they proceed with drilling and fracking in New Brunswick. An initial Town Council vote will take place on November 24. Please show your support by joining their FB group and adding any helpful comments as they strive to help keep our area, including the Peticodiac River clean and healthy for future generations. Thank You
