An excellent historical documentary that highlights the trials and tribulations of Salman Rushdie as he struggled to lead a normal life under the constant threat of the Ayatollah Khomeinis fatwa. The part of the story that most people dont seem to hear about is Rushdies attempt to convince the Iranian religious leaders to withdraw the fatwa on the basis that he was becoming a more devout muslim. Obviously, it didnt work, but it does show how much pressure Rushdie must have been under at the time.
