An important perspective to look at this chart is the reality that during the period 1947-1977 America still was an industrial society that relied on labor intensive input in the production of products and services, and thus income through jobs was rewarded. But as time marched on and effects of tectonic shifts in the technologies of production grew so did the widening income gap grow as the non-human factor of production––productive capital––became (and continues to become) far more contributive in the production of products and services, while destroying jobs (thus expanding the available pool of workers competing with each other) and devaluing the worth of labor. While this is the reality, our nation continues to fail to address the REAL problem at the root of income inequality––CONCENTRATED OWNERSHIP of wealth-creating, income-generating productive capital. And to advocate for solutions that systematically broaden private sector individual ownership of the formation of FUTURE productive capital investment to empower EVERY American to accumulate over time a viable capital trust (super-IRA) portfolio of stock in diversified companies and reap the full earnings payout of corporate earnings as dividend income to support their livelihood and retirement.
