An inspirational story below from Lonnie Martin. We are proud to have Lonnie represent Sox Box while helping draw attention to service veterans. Thanks Lonnie for being part of our team and for your service! thesoxbox -------------------------------------------------------- Aloha from Oahu, I wear your sox at every race, run, hike, or athletic event I go to. I wear the Spartan ones, Beast Mode (multiple colors), and my favorite pink Fearless ones~ which I wear almost all the time at races. They let people know that I am there for business but also not afraid to wear pink or kick butt. I am a wounded warrior survivor of combat PTSD, traumatic brain injury or TBI, depression, and a myriad of other combat related issues who set out this year to take control of my life. After several combat tours in Iraq I found myself battling these issues and they overwhelmed me. I started running to reclaim my life and spirit. Now I run to bring awareness to mental health issues facing combat veterans. I have found that we can take the warrior out of the war zone, but it is extremely difficult to bring the war out of the warrior. I have run over 300 miles for charity and conquered 12 Spartan races, 5 half marathon, and numerous other races towards the goal of bringing awareness to these issues. I have now started carrying my US flag, named Freedom, with me on these runs to bring more attention to the message I am carrying.
