Animals Australia have released a new video advert titled how to treat a lady right. It features well known celebrities and comedians, fighting for the plight of abolishing battery hens and caged chickens. Unfortunately, this is yet again a narrow-minded outlook. Not once is it suggested that chickens be off the menu, and focuses solely on not caging chickens to produce caged eggs. Free-range generally means that tens of thousands of chickens will be held up in a large enclosure (usually a giant shed), with no direct sunlight and without the ability to roam properly. Free-range is simply yet another tactic to suggest that people can mass-breed animals, enslave them and exploit them. If chickens could talk - and you told them they would be exploited in the millions, enslaved in free-range enclosures, exploited for their eggs and killed as food - do you think they would smile and agree that this was OK? Please, think about the perspective of the chickens whom are slaughtered on a daily basis in free-range farms. Please, live Vegan.
