Annual Memorial to Emergency Service Volunteers of NSW today. Our - TopicsExpress

Annual Memorial to Emergency Service Volunteers of NSW today. Our Minister, Stuart Ayres delivered a most fitting address in recognition of value of volunteer emergency service personnel, honouring the memory of those who have paid the ultimate price, as well as paying tribute the families, loved ones and colleagues of those lost in the line of duty. 87 names are etched into the monument, including 68 RFS members dating back to 1952. Deputy Captain Peter Witton from Kyogle was added to the memorial this year following his death last month whilst responding with fellow crew to a house fire. A sobering reminder to all of us of the sacrifice given by so many in the want to simply serve and protect their community. May we be forever thankful for our volunteers and never forget those no longer with us. Thank you to all those that attended this most special day.
