Another Saturday morning and I am ready to go serve the Lord in singing and music at the “Well.” The poor and the homeless will come in for a bag of groceries and dinner and they will be hearing the Word of God being preached this morning and songs of praise to Jesus Christ our Lord. Never think that Jesus calls a person because of their wealth and prestige, their learning, or their fancy manner. Paul tells us that Jesus calls all ranks of people to salvation. “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence“ (First Corinthians 1:26-29). Just one pay check away and many would be homeless. We must never forsake the poor and those in need.
