Another hard days work yesterday on the North Norfolk Coast! We managed to squeeze-in a quick stop at Weybourne Station en-route to a installation in Sherringham. We timed it perfectly at David Shepherds Standard 9F Black Prince was about to depart for Holt and what a wonderful sight it made against the blue sky backdrop. These locos (built in Swindon railway works) were used extensively on the Somerset & Dorset Region from their manufacture in the 1950s to the end of mainline steam in the late 1960s. What a fantastic sight these would have made climbing out of Bath Green Park and down into the depths of the West Country in the heyday of steam and before Doctor Beeching closed all the cross country railway routes.
