Another one from my closet writer - although I get to make partial claim to it, for his words to me I actually was speaking about the river. But speaking about it through you. For she is truly your lady. And these words come to me because of what you have told me of her.. So this one goes to her... The Cheat Twisting and winding down the way. Meandering through the day. Roaring through the narrows, lapping upon the shore. Flowing swiftly around the bend only to become calm again. Upon your shores my mind is at ease. Listening to you slap water against my feet. Nothing soothes my soul like the words you speak. For they are not words that can be repeated or even spoke. Others do not understand what you mean to me. Nor do they know how you talk to me. How you are my savior when I am in need. They call you the Cheat. They say you will cheat people of their lives. Many have gone beneath your waters never again to step foot on solid ground. For they knew not your power. They took you for granted where I never will. To some you are a cheat but to me you are The Cheat. And as long as I breathe the air above your waters. You will always have a friend in me. We strive for a common goal. A goal of washing away the bad and bringing back the good. I hope when I leave you for the day I have left you better. For I know your healing waters have washed away my pain.
