Another poem by David Erdreich. This one is good for a morning walk! Minnewaska Beyond the shadow of a cloud, Doubt, confusion disallowed Stem to stern, tiller to prow, Bright sun, chill fall returns to call Minnewaska, slow to gain Glacier overran terrain Over topped this mountain chain Retreated slowly, lakes to drain Trapped on top of solid rock Deep depressions smoothly pocked Crags and ledges flattened down Pristine lakes to walk around Awosting, Mohonk tangent scarp Scan the Hudson from afar Shawangunks cliffs a-track rappel Winds are singing I can tell Up on this earth sweet pines abound Summer blueberries cover ground Sunday morning take a walk Stretch the legs A place to talk by Watts Innername
