Finnish researchers found that most people who exercise after 8 PM fall asleep faster, enjoy a deeper slumber, and wake up feeling more refreshed than they do when they work out earlier in the day. Why? Exercise raises your body temperature, but the cooling effect you experience by the time you crawl into bed mirrors your body’s natural, nightly drop in core body temperature, which helps induce sleep.
