There are liars and propagandists hiding behind their media/journalist credentials to lobby for either their own pet political cause, or the cause of someone paying them. A free and responsible media is an ESSENTIAL check and balance for society - paid liars masquerading as journalists undermines and threatens the publics trust in this check and balance and should be rooted out and punished. For instance, in the Bangkok Post article, the people complaining about the new panel include the Thai Journalists Association and Prachatai - BOTH are foreign-funded organizations, with Prachatai in particular being an overt pro-Thaksin, pro-US State Department lobbying front.
