Anthony Parnell, here are my picks for the NBA today: I went 2-1 last night Charlotte over Milwaukee: Welcome back, Hornets. Bucks are one of the worst teams out there, but then again, Charlotte barley made the playoffs last year so no game is guaranteed a win. CHA 96 MIL 87 Indiana over Philadelphia: Pacers are back in business, while the 76ers are the worst team in the game right now. Paul Geroge can still produce big numbers and the Indy offense should have no problem at home. IND 110 PHI 85 Brooklyn over Boston: Celtics are facing harsh reality. Then you got Brooklyn with rising and athletic talent. Should be a win for the Nets at home. BRK 101 BOS 91 Miami over Washington: I think the Heat are in for a rough season because they still got Wade and Bosh, but they will miss LeBron hopelessly. He usually led the team in scoring while Wade and Bosh just supported him and the Heat are gonna face cruelty because of that. Wizards have some good, young players, but I think Miami has it. MIA 97 WSH 92 Toronto over Atlanta: Raptors have some young talent and that lead them to the playoffs last year. Hawks were a playoff team last year, but they were under .500. TOR 95 ATL 83 Memphis over Minnesota: Grizzlies get better every year with Randolph. If people thought the Wolves were bad with Kevin Love, wait till they see how bad they are without him. MEM 103 MIN 80 Chicago over New York: Bulls have Derrick Rose back, but the question is can he stay the season? Knicks are the most criticized team in the NBA right now and the criticism is why they arent playing as well as they should. CHI 102 NY 90 Denver over Detroit: Nuggets had a rough season last year, but I think they can play solid ball without carmello. Pistons downfall continues. DEN 104 DET 85 Houston over Utah: The problem with the Jazz is that they rely too much on point guards to carry the team. Literally, theyre so worried about offense, they dont play defesne. Meanwhile, Houston is 2-0. HOU 111 UTA 83 Phoenix over LALakers: Suns are rising (no pun intended), and the Lakers continue to struggle. Lets face it: Kobe is getting old and his time is short with basketball. Lakers still have some good players, but they have the two oldest players in the game right now (Kobe and Steve Nash). PHX 109 LAL 94 Golden State over Sacramento: Warriors are gonna be a a fun team to watch this year. Curry just knows how to deliver and he is a sure rising star for the future. The Kings continue to lose. GS 106 SAC 87 Portland over Oklahoma City: This is a premier match-up and the best game of the night. Blazers are a very good home team, especially with Matthews and Aldridge. Then you got the Thunder with the MVP and Westbrook. I can see these two duking it out in the Western Championships and a very entertaining game. POR 101 OKC 99
