Any help would be appreciated. A current text I am reading is arguing for delimitating a text. I am familiar with delimitation criticism, but not as it relates to linguistic analysis. The text is dependent upon Elisabeth Gulich and Wolfgang Raible and is arguing for delimitating text. My current author defines delimitation markers as, “signs within a text that serve to set off its component parts from one another while yet connecting these parts in an overarching structure. The markers are classified according to a three-level system, the pragmatic, semantic, and syntactic dimensions.” (p.69) Other such names are Robert de Beaugrande, Wolfgang Dressler, Roland Harweg, Teun van Dijk, or David Hellholm. Any help with basic definitions, articles, or books on the relationship between discourse analysis and delimitation?
