Anybody remember this stuff KRS? I do! KRS isnt particularly a wound ointment, its an insect repellent and isnt supposed to be applied directly to a wound. Like many older topicals, it had a reputation that is well above its actual usefulness. The active ingredient is an organophosphate (coumaphous) which is toxic to humans and animals when applied repeatedly because it builds up in your system. The other ingredient in KRS is methylene chloride which is classified as a carcinogen and can be absorbed via skin contact. Its also labelled as explosive So, the product did nothing to actually heal the wound, it was just an insect repellent with some nasty risks associated with it. According to the EPA, this product registration has been cancelled due to acute toxicity hazard.
