Anyone interested in renting a place should stay away from Orchard Village Apartments. 4481 S. Buffalo Street in OP. We had a 14 month lease and a month after we moved in, the complex was bought by someone else. Shortly after, our property manager (who was amazing), moved to Maryland. He and his wife were amazing. They lived on-sirte and were very hands-on. Needless to say, the new Property Manager, Sharon Badach, was horrible. She seemed very un-approving of kids playing outside, unwilling to work with us in general, repairs being taken care of in a prompt manner, (our basement leaked along the wall, but was fixed, the plumbing constantly backed up, and the shower that was repaired started leaking through the kitchen ceiling for the second time), spraying for insects (i.e.-mass amounts of ants), didnt seem to be any big deal even though they kept coming in our very clean home. The Property Manager, Sharon Badach, felt more compelled to spend more on the landscaping than the actual buildings themselves. Seems everything was more of an inconvenience to her and that she couldnt handle the property itself with all that was going on. However, the lawn was mowed every week, the landscapers were out several times per week during the spring and summer, and even though the driveway was plowed when needed during the winter, the sidewalks and entryways were neglected. Our old Property Manager and his WIFE, were up first thing in the morning shoveling snow and making sure spaces were clear. NOW we are having to go to court because we havent moved as of August 1st. In asking for an extension of our lease AND paying the prorated amount per day while our new place was being taken care of, our Property Manager, Sharon Badach, decided NOT to work with us and still wanted to kick us out for NO REASON at all. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional or uncaring individual in my life as a renter. Its unfortunate that we are having to go through this ordeal only living here for a little over a year, and that my children have gained many friends among the community. We are moving to Greenlake Apartments where we have been treated like Kings and Queens!! Thank you Holly for being so patient and helpful to my family and I!!! Beware of Orchard Village Apartments!!
