Anyone who has been to the shelter lately has experienced the slick muddy mess that the new interaction pens become each time any rain falls. In some great news, the county has asked the contractor to replace the drowned/torn up/destroyed-by-urine grass in these pens with gravel to provide a more hospitable (and less dangerous) interaction environment. Many thanks to Athenspets Susan and Nadine for alerting the county to the issue, and to the county government for taking the concerns seriously!
