Apollo 11 F-1 Engine Found On Seafloor 44 years ago a rocket lifted off carrying three astronauts, two of which would be the first to walk on the moon. Carrying them to their destination were a series of rockets the first of which was the largest and most powerful, the F-1 stage. On the eve of this 44th anniversary, Jeff Bezos, founder of Blue Origin and Amazon has announced that one of the F-1 stage rockets has been recovered and brought to the surface. Among the other things they brought back were gas injector, heat exchangers, turbines and much more.
