Are Boko Haram members more equipped than the Nigerian Army? I dont think so. I have seen Boko Haram videos and their foot soldiers. Compared to the Nigerian Army they are still rag-tag hungry army of un-trained fanatics. The problem of fighting people with mindset like Boko Haram is that they are more motivated as they believe they are dying to go to paradise. So they are ready to die. They are suicidal. I dont agree that they are well equipped as is being claimed by many. The Nigerian Army on the other hand hasnt got enough training on patriotism and why fighting and dying for Nigeria is everything that matters and is heroic. They see their ogas with pot-belly looting $billions. They know that if something happens to them no one will care about them or their families. They see it all as fighting in vain in a country that just doesnt care. Nigeria is not worth dying for. Some are even from State where people in large numbers are sympathetic to the Islamists. The problems of the army is more of lack of leadership than equipment. -George Onmonya Daniel
