Are you voting today? You should. And when you do, vote for the - TopicsExpress

Are you voting today? You should. And when you do, vote for the right candidate. Who is the right candidate. Well, thats the easy part. But lets ask some questions first. When you vote, do you vote for party over person? Each party has a platform that tells you their beliefs. Their actions will mimick those beliefs. The person may waiver in certain areas (or APPEAR more moderate than the rest of the party) but truth be told they will tow the party line most of the time. Do you vote for the person you feel most comfortable with, that you like the most, regardless of party? Youve heard the ads, read the news stories, maybe watched a debate or two. You know where they stand, and youre fair enough to vote for the person you think would do the best job. So these are two approaches to voting today. But let me tell you who the right candidate is. When you step into that voting booth today, you wont be alone. If you consider yourself a Christian, a follower of Chirst, and man/woman of God, then He is there with you. He will tell you the right candidate to vote for. The right candidate believes what the Bible teaches us as followers of Christ. - Love one another - Value life - There is a moral center - not shades of gray - Help your fellow man, so they can help themselves. - Have no other gods - including Government So what does your candidate believe? With God there in the voting booth with you, will you vote for a candidate that supports things against your Christian beliefs? Notice I mentioned voting for the right candidate, not the good candidate. In this day and age of politics there are very, very few candidates that are good. They are all generally shades of bad, and the political process is fraught with corruption and fraud at best. But at the end of the day, can you explain to your God why you voted the way you did. This nation was founded on basic Christian beliefs. As a nation, freedom of religion (NOT freedom FROM religion) is paramount in our Constitution (largely ignored by both sides of the aisle, as well as the Judicial branch these days...). Do we vote our beliefs? I am thankful today, to be able to share my beliefs, to vote my beliefs and to live in a country where we have the ability to participate in the conversation. And as little faith I have in our current government, I have everlasting faith in God, and I know it DOES make a difference and if we dont give up, we can and will return this nation to its prinicples of freedom and individual responsibility.
