Arminianism posits that God loves the reprobate now and will - TopicsExpress

Arminianism posits that God loves the reprobate now and will continue to love them while they are being tortured forever ... and that we will too. What a pathetic God who went ahead and created such people knowing that He would never find satisfaction in their final state but would always have to be angry at them and exceedingly sad for them .... forever. And what a pathetic people we are made to be having to endure the knowledge of the reprobates torment while commanded and conformed to love them at the same time. At least with Calvinism we can anticipate an ultimate day of satisfaction for God and His people, even if how we arrive at this day makes no sense. Many Arminians recognize this conundrum in Arminiansm. How do they handle it ? They simply punt the ball back to God and find bliss in not thinking about... They admit that their sense of logic cannot explain it and chalk this apparent problem up to a flaw in their sense of logic. Well if their sense of logic is so flawed they cannot provide an answer to such a basic and pressing question, then how can they trust their minds to make any sense of the Bible on other things? For example, how can they trust their sense of logic to deduce that Calvinism is wretched? ...[H]ow did you arrive at your conclusion that Calvinism is wretched? By using your flawed heart and perceptions? Of course. Now, if your heart and perceptions are so flawed that you cannot explain Gods judgement from an Arminian perspective, how can you expect your flawed heart and perceptions to make any valid conclusions concerning Calvinism? Arminianism so violates the law of non-contradiction that it leaves the door open for any other contradiction. Could it be possible that even though God promised to save people like [a certain person], SURPRISE, He actually wont? According to [a certain persons] thinking, of course, because it may only SEEM like a contradiction because of our flawed hearts and perceptions, when actually it is NOT a contradiction in Gods mind. I guess well have to wait and see. Not a pleasant thought. If God has left us with hearts and perceptions and logic that are so screwed up that apparent contradictions are actually not contradictions, then how can He expect his people to deduce any truth from the Bible? He cant and we are left with an absurd, ridiculous religion that cannot possibly offer any assurance. - Eric Michaels
